Raids Preventing Crime-Corruption in Jayapura, 83 Motorbikes and 2 Sniffs Are Confiscated

The Jayapura City Police have intensified street raids to suppress cases of motor vehicle theft (curanmor) and other street crimes. As a result, officers confiscated 83 motorbikes and two sharp weapons (sajam) from the raid that was held at five points in the capital of Papua.

"To reduce the number of motorbike thefts and other crimes that often disturb the public, these raids were carried out simultaneously at five points in the Abepura and Heram areas for the purpose" said the Head of Jayapura City Police, Kombes Gustav R Urbinas to reporters, Tuesday (9/2/2021 ).

The five raid points were the T-junction beside the Uncen Auditorium, in front of Trikora Square, in front of the Mimika Dormitory, the Perumnas Taxi III round, and in front of Saumil Perumnas III.

In this operation, the Jayapura City Police were backed up by the Papua Police Dalmas and the Papua Regional Police Mobile Brigade.

"A total of 83 motorbikes and 2 sharp weapons were successfully secured by the police from the results of the raid," he said.

"In front of Trikora Field, 8 units were found, at the T-junction beside the Uncen Auditorium, 33 motorbikes and 2 sharp weapons were found, 20 units were found in front of the Mimika Dormitory, 10 units of the Perumnas Taxi III round and in front of Saumil Perumnas III were found 12 motorbikes. , "he explained.

He said the two owners of sajam sangkur and kitchen knives were secured at the Abepura Police Headquarters for further information. Meanwhile, residents who can show their motorbike documents can show them to officers at the Abepura Police Headquarters and the Heram Sub-Sector Police.

"The motorbikes caught in the raid have now been secured at the Abepura Police Headquarters and the Heram Sub-Sector Police, amounting to 83 units, but if any of the owners who have been raided can come with vehicle documents and show them to the officers, they will be immediately returned free of charge. "he explained.

Kombes Gustav hopes that the raids which are carried out simultaneously can close the space for criminals to move. He said that this raid would continue to be held by the Jayapura City Police or the ranks of the police.
