Polda Metro Will Take Decisive Action on Criminals Who Act During the Pandemic

Police are warning criminals who are trying to take action in the midst of a pandemic. The police will take firm and measured action against criminals who disturb the security of DKI Jakarta.

"The Polda Metro Jaya Police will not hesitate, we will take firm action against the robbers, the perpetrators with a decisive measure," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus during a press conference broadcast live through PMJ's Instagram PR account, Monday (20/4 / 2020).

Yusri ensured that this would be done following an increase in the number of crimes, such as weighted theft, hoaxes, and fraud in the midst of the Corona outbreak. He also emphasized that his party will not hesitate to take firm action against the perpetrators who commit violence against the community.

"For the perpetrators who endanger the safety of society, we will not hesitate to take firm measures against the perpetrators who try to disturb the public, including those who spread fake news," he said.

In addition, Yusri asked the public not to be anxious. The police ensure the safety of the community by being present and conducting patrols in the community.

"The people do not have to worry, the police are everywhere, the police are ordered to come down in uniform and not in uniform, this is an attempt to eliminate the intentions and opportunities of the perpetrators," said Yusri.

As is known, Polda Metro Jaya revealed that there were a number of crime trends that had increased during the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) pandemic in DKI Jakarta. The crime of theft with weighting, fraud, and hoaxes is said to have increased compared to usual.
